Sign a PDF Online
This tool places an image of your signature onto a PDF page — you upload the PDF and a picture of your signature (a photo of a pen-and-paper signature works fine, as does a signature exported from another app), then drag and resize it directly on a preview of the page until it's positioned exactly where you want. There's no drawing pad here; the signature has to already exist as an image file.
This produces a PDF with your signature image visually placed on the page — it's a straightforward way to sign a document you're sending informally (a form, a letter, an internal agreement). It is not a cryptographic digital signature and doesn't provide the tamper-evidence or identity verification that formal e-signature services (like DocuSign) offer for legally-binding contracts — for those, use a dedicated e-signature platform.
When to use this
- Signing a form, letter, or informal agreement without printing and scanning it
- Adding a signature to a document before emailing it
- Placing a consistent signature image across multiple documents
Important considerations
- You need a signature image first. A photo of your signature on plain paper, cropped fairly close, works well — a transparent-background PNG looks the cleanest since there's no white box around it.
- This isn't a legal e-signature. For contracts that require verifiable, legally-binding electronic signatures, use a dedicated e-signature service instead.
- One signature, one page per pass. To sign multiple pages, apply the signature, download the result, then re-upload it to sign the next page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I draw my signature directly instead of uploading an image?
Not currently — you'll need a signature image (a photo or scan of a handwritten signature, or one exported from a signature app) to upload.
Is this legally binding like DocuSign?
No. This visually places your signature image on the page but doesn't provide the cryptographic verification, audit trail, or identity checks that dedicated e-signature platforms use for legally-binding contracts.
Can I sign more than one page at once?
Each pass signs one page. To sign additional pages, download the result and repeat the process, choosing the next page number.
