Each page is rendered at 2× the PDF's native resolution, which keeps small text and fine detail readable when you zoom in, without producing an unnecessarily huge file for a typical document page. To keep processing fast, only the first 20 pages of a document are converted — for longer files, use Split PDF first to break it into smaller sections.

When to use PDF to PNG instead of PDF to JPG
- Documents with text or line art: PNG's lossless compression keeps edges sharp — JPG can introduce visible blur or blocky artifacts around text and thin lines.
- Diagrams, charts, and screenshots embedded in a PDF: PNG preserves flat colors and sharp boundaries much better than JPG's photo-oriented compression.
- You need transparency later: if you plan to edit the exported image and remove its background, PNG supports transparency; JPG never does.
- File size matters more than quality: for ordinary photos or scanned pages where some compression is fine, PDF to JPG produces smaller files.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my PNG file larger than I expected?
PNG is lossless, so it doesn't discard image data the way JPG does — this keeps quality high but means file sizes are naturally bigger, especially for pages with photos or complex color gradients. If size matters more than pixel-perfect quality, PDF to JPG will produce smaller files from the same document.
Is there a page limit?
Yes — only the first 20 pages of a document are converted, to keep processing fast for everyone. For a longer document, split it into sections first with Split PDF and convert each part.
Can I download just one page instead of the whole ZIP?
Yes. The results page gives you a "download all" ZIP button as well as an individual download link for every page.
Will the PNGs have a transparent background?
No. Pages are rendered as a flat image of exactly what's on the page, including its background — there's no automatic transparency added. If you need a transparent background, use Remove Background on the exported PNG afterward.
