What unit are the margin values in?
Points, not pixels — the same unit PDF pages are measured in internally (72 points = 1 inch). A standard US Letter page is 612 × 792 points, and A4 is roughly 595 × 842 points. To remove a 1-inch margin, enter 72; for half an inch, enter 36.
Does cropping delete the trimmed content permanently?
It removes the trimmed area from the visible page boundary. If you crop too aggressively and need the original back, re-upload your unmodified source file rather than trying to "un-crop" the result.
Can I crop each page differently?
No, the same top/bottom/left/right values are applied to every page in the document in one pass.
